Entry Fee (Cadoo Points)

The entry fee is the funds that you lock into a game to join it. Once you complete the game requirements, your entry fee will be unlocked and added back to your available balance. The entry fee will depend on the game. All entry fees will go towards the "prize pool".

What is a prize pool? How does it work?

The prize pool is the total amount of money put into a game by all entered participants (the total sum of the entry fees). If a game costs $10 to enter and 5 participants enter it, the prize pool is then $50. If you complete the game, you will always get your initial entry fee back. The prize pool is not the amount you receive when completing a game.

What happens if everyone completes a game?

If everyone wins or completes a game, everyone would receive their entry fee back. The main motivational aspect of Cadoo is getting your money back if you achieve your goals. Winning additional money is a bonus - it is not guaranteed in every game, but it does happen.

How does extra payouts work? Can I earn more than my entry fee?

Only if there is at least one participant who did not finish the game, Cadoo would take a 25% cut of their entry fee and evenly redistribute the remaining fees to the winners. The amount of the payouts depends on the amount of people who has entered the game, the amount of the entry fee, and the amount of people who have lost the game.

How would possible extra payouts calculate?

If a game costs $10 to enter and 5 participants enter, the prize pool becomes $50.

If one person loses the game, the remaining prize pool would be $10 (the four people who won, gets their entry fee back).

Cadoo takes a 25% cut (10 x 0.25 = $2.50 , 10 - 2.50 = $7.50). The remaining pool is $7.50.

The remaining funds are evenly redistributed to the winners (7.50 ÷ 4). Each winner would receive about $1.87 extra, on top of their initial entry fee.
