Elimination Challenges
What are elimination challenges?
Elimination or tournament-style challenges are faster-paced, stricter, and less forgiving than goal-based challenges. 50% of participants will lose their entry fees. Participants are entirely responsible for ensuring their activity is properly uploaded. Elimination challenges have strict policy guidelines due to its fast-paced, high risk, and high reward nature.
Duration
There are two elimination challenges running each day. Challenges last 13 hours, but begin and end every 12 hours.
- The first challenge begins at 09:00 am PST and the last chance to join will be 09:00 pm PST, but participants still have time to get in extra reps until 10:00 pm PST.
- The second challenge begins at 09:00 pm PST and the last chance to join will be 09:00 am PST, but participants still have time to get in extra reps until 10:00 am PST.
- These specific time allowances ensures participants from all over the world can participate without the fear of losing their spot while asleep, and the entry deadline prevents others from entering and immediately losing an on-going challenge, similar to regular, goal based challenges.
- When a participant enters an elimination challenge, they understand that all activity uploaded will be visible to the public. This is to ensure all participants are satisfied with the validity of one another's activity.
Reporting
Other participants are free to review, scrutinize, and report videos that are deemed against the rules. Any reported videos are manually reviewed by the Cadoo team for verification. An elimination challenge will not be paid out if there are any activity reports that are awaiting a review. Once a challenge has been paid out, no results can be reversed.
- Bad Form: A participant is not doing the full range of motion (ROM) or the correct exercise. There is a certain range in which a person's form will be allowed and count, as we understand no one's form is "perfect", but the usage of knees and other examples of poor form will either not count, or result in a major rep count loss.
- Wrong Placement: A participant's whole body is not in view, small details of the body go out of frame (eg. elbows), However, if a significant amount or portion of a person's body is not visible (at least 50%, or stomach and below is not visible), the push-ups cannot be verified and the video uploaded will result in a 0.
- Different or Multiple People: More than one person is recording on one account. If more than one person is shown to be completing push-ups on one account, regardless if it is one video or in several, the participant will be disqualified and will lose their entry fee.
- Nudity or Other Illegal Activity: Contains nudity or depiction of illegal activities. All users must be appropriately clothed when recording activity. If a participant is using such activities, either as a way to distribute such content or deter other users from reviewing their activity, the participant will be disqualified from the challenge.
- Cheating: This is a catch-all for anything else. Video recordings of a person who is not the account holder, manipulating the challenge to gain advantage over other participants, gaming the system, or any other associated methods of cheating will result in an automated disqualification. If a participant is found out to be cheating after the challenge has finished and paid out, it is to the discretion of the Cadoo team to reverse the payment and the person will lose the entry fee (and extra winnings, if applicable).
Refunds
Due to the strict policies, refunds will very rarely be allowed for elimination challenges. Timed refunds will not be allowed, include (but are not limited to):
- Joining a challenge later than intended or realized
- Unexpected (or expected) schedule disruptions in one's personal life
- Accidentally joining a challenge
- Weak network connection or the inability to upload videos
