Game Details and Rules

Per acknowledgement box, participants are required to accept the contents of this page before joining games at all times. Cadoo is not responsible based on assumption or the unawareness of the content.

Mission

Cadoo is a motivational fitness app, where participants bet real money on themselves to compete in and complete games, alongside others around the world. This not only stimulates motivation and to keep each person accountable for their own activities, but also creates achievements and breaks self-goals. Each game page is tailored to its own rules and details, so participants can compete in an equalized and fair system.

Accountability and Responsibility

To keep all participants accountable for their syncing activities and video uploads, not adhering to the app's standards and any form of cheating will result in warnings, activity or game kick-outs, and suspensions, depending on the volume and actions. Any monetary losses will not be disputed under this ruling.

Time Allotment and Management: Participants must acknowledge the time allotment to successfully complete a game. If a participant is found to be racing to complete a game at the last minute, being sloppy or disorganized with reps, or any reason below, they will incur either a modified rep count or game removal with or without notifications.

  1. All game start at midnight of the stated start date on the game page. Games end at 11:59 pm of the end date and applies to all participants in the current time-zone they are in. All data must be synced prior to this time for it to be applied to the game.
  2. All activity-based games requires to be joined before an activity is done for it to count towards the challenge. A run done in the morning will not progress in a game joined in the afternoon.
  3. If games are joined after the start date, any past data cannot be submitted or progressed in games. Participants are required to acknowledge the late entry and must fulfill the requirements to complete a game.
  4. Activity-based games and steps will have an impact if a participant changes time-zones during an active game. Participants are required to inform Cadoo's support as soon as possible to avoid game losses. Failure to inform after the 3-day grace period and after a game is finalized will result in game losses.
  5. All games on Cadoo has a 3-day grace period after the game end date before a game is finalized. This is specifically to allow trackers to sync late data and for any and all disputes and missing activities to be reported. For example, if the end date is January 15th, the grace period is the 16th, 17th, and 18th, and the game is finalized on the 19th. When a game is finalized, no disputes nor missing activities can be reported.
  6. If the AI does not count the correct reps, the participant is required to utilize the exclamation point next to the respected video and report the count. All reported videos are thoroughly reviewed within the specific guidelines below. Missing steps and activity must be reported through a missing activity report with the specific screenshot attached. To validate the accuracy of an activity, all activity-based games is required to be reported with the specific mileage, distance, and time of activity. No daily or weekly recap screenshots are accepted.

General Cheating: Video recordings of a person who is not the account holder, manipulating the game to gain advantage over other participants, gaming the system, or any other associated method of cheating will result in an automatic game kick and suspension without notice. This includes but not limited to: the usage of external programs to record activities, friends/family performing reps on the behalf of the account holder, holding more than one account, or the usage of multiple devices.

Modified Rep Counts: All half-reps and other actions in all games will incur a modified rep count. Rep counts may be modified if they are not up to the app's standards. If you have difficulty in performing the exercises, it is highly recommended to join free or non-monetary games, where a little more leniency is provided.

Push-Ups:

Knee push-ups are only allowed in free games, both male and female alike.

  1. Any assistance (usage of objects) or inclined push-ups will result in a zero count without notice. Participants are required to have both hands and feet planted on the ground at all times.
  2. The spine should never be curved. Participants are required to lift themselves fully up from head to legs, and keep the entire body in alignment at all times.
  3. A full rep counts as the body goes down, closest or barely touching the ground as possible, and back up with straight arms where the elbow joint is not showing.
  4. Elbows should be at a perpendicular line to the wrist.
  5. Avoid hanging or dropping your head below the body, as this commonly results in half-reps.

Squats: Required to be at knee length or lower. If the reps does not show any depth or does not meet the knee length, the rep count will be modified. Any assistance (holding onto objects for leverage) will result in a zero count.

Sit-Ups: A full sit-up on Cadoo is defined as the body is lying on the ground with the back flat and the body coming up to a full 90 degree sitting position, reaching the knees, and coming all the way back down.

  1. Cradling the body or performing crunches will result in a modified rep count.
  2. Ground your feet at all times, commonly with the bottom of a sofa.
  3. Kicking yourself up, inverted reps (kicking legs in the air), body is more than 30% away from the knees, or if the body does not hit the ground when coming down, will incur a modified rep count.

Steps and Activity-Based:

  1. Suspicious or unusually high amount of daily steps will be removed from games.
  2. Any and all suspicious paces (mileage against time of activity) will be removed from games.

Required Trackers and Integrations

  1. Each game page has a symbol list of all acceptable trackers that a participant can use to sync data to the game. This list has limitations on the type of game and is different from one game to another.
  2. Each game has its own "calculation method" to complete the game. Calculation methods varies from reps, daily steps, or mileage requirements either on a daily or total value. If a game requires mileage (walking, biking, running, or swimming), you must set your tracker to calculate distance and it must track either miles or kilometers for the data to progress in games.
  3. Camera videos are recorded within the app itself, rather than using a physical tracker. The participant needs to be accountable for their uploads and take any uploading time into account, regarding data and Wi-Fi connections. Cadoo is not responsible if participants rush through challenges at the last minute and the activity is not uploaded in time.
  4. Participants are required to acknowledge which video game page they are uploading videos on. Rep counts will not be split nor will counts be rolled over onto another game if the participant has overlooked them.
  5. Pace limit requirements are established in Cadoo's games. Data submitted and synced to the app will need to be faster than 1 mph (1.6 km/h) and 6 steps per minute to be considered valid.

Elimination Challenges

Elimination games holds higher standards than regular goal-based games. All videos that are uploaded while a challenge is active is viewable to the public, and reportable by anyone.

  1. Knee push-ups: No knee push-ups are allowed and will result in an automatic zero.
  2. Full body in view: Participants are required to have the entire body, from head to toe, in the camera view. If you wish to participate with a frontal view, participants are required to tuck in shirts, etc so the legs and toes are seen. Any hidden body part will incur in modified rep counts.
  3. Full reps must be done at all times. If the rep or exercise is not done in full requirements (as explained in the above section), they will incur a modified rep count.
  4. Reports must be made while the game is active.
  5. Take your time: Elimination games are not a race of any kind. If it appears that the reps are rushed, sloppy, not up to the app's standards, or other methods to make a higher rep count, will result in a large modified rep count or elimination.
