Creating and Hosting Games

The "Create Your Own Game" feature allows participants to organize and submit their own games to Cadoo. It allows you to personalize the app to your own fitness goals, create fun games for other participants to join, and invite your friends and hold each other accountable.

1. Achieve a Silver I or higher league rank. Tap on the "Host a Challenge" button, located on the main home screen of the app.

2. Add in the name and description you wish to present on the game. The description should be short, but a good summary of what the game is about.

3. Choose from the category list of what activity your game is. Rep games are done through your phone's camera, integrated in the app, pedometer games are done through Apple Health and Google Fit, and time & distance games are done through fitness wearables and trackers.

4. Set your goals. For this article, the examples portray creating a step game. Total Requirements have more a flexible system, as a participant can do as little or as many activities within the game time frame, while Daily Requirements require participants to meet the specific goal minimum every day of the game.

5. Choose your game start date and the duration. Be aware that if today's date is chosen, the game would automatically start for you right after the creation is finalized.

6. Choose the Entry Deadline. This is the last day participants can join your game. After this date is passed, it can no longer be joined nor searched on the app. If your game has high requirements, it's suggested to choose an earlier date, so others can enjoy the game as well.

7. Choose the game difficulty. This would depend on how easy or hard the game requirements are to a person.

8. Choose the entry fee of the game. This is the amount of monetary funds that each participant would have to put in to join the game, including you as the host.

9. Choose a banner. This is the image that would be represented at the top of the game page, as well as searches and categories.

10. Review the game settings. After the game is posted live on the app, there is no way for a participant to edit the game, so be sure to thoroughly review all sections.

11. Confirm the conditions. As the host, you will automatically be entered in the game and required to follow the appropriate standards of the app, according to the Challenge Rules posted.

12. Enjoy your game! Scroll down to the bottom and tap on the "Invite Friends" button to invite other participants and friends who are in the Bronze I league rank or higher.
